X-WARRIOR

GOOD TO KNOW

3-2-1 AROSA

3-2-1 AROSA
Only a few weeks left until AROSA rocks, and here is a RACE-UP-DATE with the most important information about the X-WARRIOR Weekend, 17-18 August 24 in the Swiss mountains.
The event area, including the start/finish line, race office, and recovery area, is located at the Untersee beach in Arosa. Insiders call it BADI > STRANDBAD AROSA, Unterseestrasse 28, CH-7050 Arosa. You can find the weekend program, the routes, and obstacles on the RACE-MAPS: OCR X-LITE 2024 vs OCR X-FULL 2024 – for all other information about Arosa, click AROSA.
We will be there for you on both race days from 08:00, so please plan accordingly. You will receive your race materials: headband, wristband, and timing chip. The event area also includes a BAG-DROP-OFF-ZONE, where you can change in the swimming pool building and deposit your bags at your own risk. We need your identity card for name-check and the personally signed WAIVER – please download and bring it with you.
Start times are as follows: X-LITE on Saturday from 10:00 am, and X-FULL on Sunday from 10:00 am. The start will be a ROLLING START, meaning: COMPETITIVES, 2 Warriors start simultaneously every 30 seconds – NON-COMPETITIVES follow in groups of up to 4 Warriors. The current start list will be published one week before the race weekend. You can find more information about the races and rules HERE. There may be delays in the given start slots to avoid queues on the course and at the obstacles. The routes are marked, staffed with marshals, and for your safety, we are in radio contact with all marshals. At some obstacles, there are marshals for all COMPETITIVE athletes – if you fail an obstacle, you must complete a penalty. This can either be an additional penalty loop to run or a penalty zone where you kindly show us 25 burpees. NON-COMPETITIVE athletes can help each other, and penalties are voluntary. The cut-off time for courses and obstacles is 3:00 pm on both days, meaning you should finish by then.
After the race, we expect you in the recovery area with PEAK PUNK Nutrition – no bullshit!, FOCUS WATER, refreshing light vitamin water, and bananas. For those who want to shower, you can either jump into the lake or use the warm showers at the SPORTZENTRUM, Poststrasse 27, 7050 Arosa.
The RESULTS 2024 lists will be constantly updated during the race days until the last athletes have finished. The award ceremony for all COMPETITIVE athletes is planned for 2:00 pm. All NON-COMPETITIVES will be listed alphabetically at the end of the race. We will promptly post all results on the X-WARRIORS.com website and share them via social media. You will find many photographers along the routes – always smile. You can view and individually order photos from our partner SPORTOGRAF a few hours after the race under BEST PICS 2024
As you may already know, the OCR SWISS CHAMPIONSHIP will also take place within the X-LITE Competitive framework, meaning all participating Swiss athletes will first be included in the X-WARRIOR award ceremony and then again in their own ceremony by the SOSF, the SWISS OBSTACLE SPORT FEDERATION.
Travel: You can conveniently and directly travel to Arosa by train from Chur. For those driving, we recommend parking at your booked accommodation or using one of the public parking spaces. There are plenty of parking spaces available at Obersee in Arosa. There are also parking spaces available around Badi, but they are very limited.
And one more thing: Because you never know what can happen, we recommend all non-resident athletes to have a travel health/accident insurance – it doesn’t cost much, but can be helpful in case of emergency. For EU citizens, medical services claimed abroad are usually reimbursed at the cost rates of the country of origin. In addition, Switzerland is not an EU country and you usually have to pay the costs incurred in advance, which you then settle with your respective health insurance company in your country of residence. For non-EU nationals, the recommendation of an international health insurance applies in principle.
We wish you a good journey and together with the team from AROSA we are looking forward to an X-WARRIOR OCR X-TRAIL Natural Obstacle Race Weekend in the Swiss mountains.
